Tuesday 14th March was a great night with a combined meeting of the Lions and Rotary Clubs. We were also delighted to have some Inner Wheel guests. The highlight of the evening was when Lions member Simon Hayes was presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship by our club for his services to the community. Congratulations Simon. Well deserved.

A debate was held between the two clubs, the topic being "Wanaka doesn't want to be like Queenstown so should we set them adrift?" The Lions team of Simon Hayes, Peter Doyle and Michael White took the affirmative and the Rotary team of Bruce Boivin, Bob Craigie and Stuart Maclean took the negative. The adjudicator "Ferg" Ferguson was heavily biased as Lion Peter Doyle blatantly kept reinforcing the fact that the two of them were mates and the Lions had a resounding victory. It was all good fun and well worth repeating.
