President's Update
The Club's 80th celebration is close and your registration is required by the 5th of April.
The Country Club is a great venue and the meal and atmosphere will be awesome.
We also have a visiting group of Rotarians from New Orleans coming in a couple of weeks and it would be great to have as many Club Members present on the night to welcome them to our Club and Queenstown.
Due to the Holiday Inn being busy with two conferences on the 26th of March, we had a social meeting at Franks. The food was fantastic and everyone enjoyed the evening.
Lee-Ann had scheduled an off-site meeting on the 02/04 at Lakeland Park Camp, but due to the majority of members being away or having family commitments, we have rescheduled this meeting to a later date.
Don't miss next week's meeting. We have four local RYLArians presenting.
The latest Wilding control group newsletter is definitely a must-read. They have reached a large milestone over the past 16 years considering they faced challenges such as reduced funding.
It discusses the latest achievements in eradicating wilding conifers in the Shotover Management Unit.
This includes many areas surrounding Queenstown including the Remarkables Front Face, Bob's Cove, Five Mile, and Cecil Peak.
The newsletter also discusses ongoing maintenance around the Skippers school house and the Mt Aurum Recreation Reserve area in 2024. This will ensure that native flora and fauna can thrive.
