Our 2023/24 Changeover last week was a very successful night with 50 present (Rotarians and partners) to celebrate an awesome year with Grant as your President.  It was great to have Alyssandra (National President Inner Wheel) and Warren Skerrett as well as Richard (President-Elect Cromwell Club) and Pam Broadhead join us as guests.

Grant presented the Pauline Hazelmore Award to Stuart Maclean for his tireless work and support for Hospice.  Tim and Fiona Wilshire received the Presidents Cup for their unsatiable effort with our ‘Duck Race’.  Certificates of Appreciation went to Richard Bowman, for his efforts leading our conservation efforts, and Keith and Heather McIntosh for the Bulletin.

It was also great to catch up with Derek and Margaret Bulman.

This coming year’s theme is “Create Hope in the World.”  There will be an emphasise on improving mental health in our community.  I know our club will engage and support initiatives that can make a difference to individuals and their families.

My first duty as your President was to induct Roger Marsh as a member of our club.  Welcome Roger and I’m sure you’ll enjoy our friendship and club activities.

Regards
Neil Boniface

GUEST SPEAKER - STEVE HALL
On 13 June we had Steve Hall, former Wakatipu High School Principal, speaking to Rotary about his bike journey through New Zealand.  What fantastic scenery and physical challenges faced by him on this journey.

VISITING ROTARIANS

We have had a number of Rotarians visiting Queenstown, and our club, en route home from the International Convention in Melbourne.  Visitors from India, America and Korea visited recently.  Shown here is a group of Rotarians from India - one is the President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Delhi South Sarita Sachder.

REDECORATING OPPORTUNITY
Due to a client's scheduling change, Nell's business now has an opening in its calendar for plaster and painting works during JULY and AUGUST.

This is an opportunity for Rotarians who may be contemplating a redecorating project to jump a queue.  Winter is a great time of year to refresh your interior, especially if you have a warmer overseas trip planned.

If you would like to take this opportunity, get in touch with Nell ASAP to secure a spot in her schedule.
