What a great event to commence 2019.  A BBQ on our Tucker Beach Trail.  Thanks to all who attended. I assume that, along with John Thompson, my BBQ cooking did not leave anyone with gastric problems.  The first person to receive a sausage was Keith and Heather’s grand daughter who was holidaying with them.  She really enjoyed my cooking and, much to Nan and Grandad’s surprise, she scoffed another two sausages during the evening.  I assume that you all enjoyed the fellowship and the evening.

Our speaker last week, Mat Weir, discussed the format of ‘The First Table’ and how it developed.  With his ‘Tech’ Skills he has offered to adjust and update our Web Site.

Our District is involved with a professional Development Exchange with Tasmania in March and April this year.  There are a team of 6 (5 professionals plus a leader) travelling from N.Z. to Tasmania in March, followed by a return team of 6 travelling here in April.

The inbound team will arrive in Queenstown on Tuesday 16 April and we have been asked to host them and arrange suitable activities for them until Saturday 20th when they will transfer to Alexandra.

Expression of interest will be called for during Tuesday’s meeting. The Team Profiles link.

Registration is now open for the District 9980 Conference 2019. This annual convention is for everyone in the Rotary family!  To learn, share, be inspired, and have fun.

TOP 6 REASONS TO ATTEND CONFERENCE
1. Strengthen your club and your passion for Rotary
2. Be motivated by inspirational Keynote Speakers
3. Learn about the excellent work being done by other clubs in the District
4. Be reminded of our global impact
5. Enjoy networking opportunities and fellowship with old friends
6. Enjoy a weekend away in the scenic Waitaki region with fantastic food and entertainment

One of the main benefits of attending a Rotary conference is the range of topics and the exceptional speakers who present. A selection of inspirational speakers has been arranged. See Rotary District 9980 Conference website for details.

Please let me know if you are planning to attend this year’s Conference.

See you on Tuesday

To Rotary

Dear Rotary Members

On behalf of the Trust and Staff at Happiness House we would like to thank your members for their generous donation of $2500.00 towards our telephone and internet costs.

This donation towards our operating costs will enable us to provide support and services to the individuals and families in our community.

Your continued support of our Community Resource Centre is greatly appreciated and enables us to continue operating knowing some of our important costs are being covered.

Warmest regards

Niki Mason, Robyn Francis, and the HH Trust

If you will be away, or for some other reason you cannot do your duty on the nominated day, it is your responsibility as soon as possible, and certainly no later than the Monday night before the meeting, to arrange a substitute.  A swap with the person who has the duty the next week is suggested.
Please be there by 5.25 pm if you are on Reception or Meet & Greet.
